End of year Raumati crafts

Combine some colouring and crafts to get in the Raumati mood along with some taiao time (with a sunhat!), or any way you think will support tamariki to sink into a flow state of chilax and reflection, perfect after a big year as we ease into the holidays

Firstly, the science...

There's something about getting out the crayons or pencils and just letting your mind relax as you fill in those little spaces. It's like a form of meditation, helping tamariki (or anyone) to de-stress and unwind from the day.

Colouring  and simple crafts can also be a wee mood booster. They can help us focus our mind on something positive, fun, and relaxing, giving us a real break from any worries or negative thoughts.

Why this activity?

Combine some colouring with some taiao time, or any way you think will support tamariki to sink into a flow state and reflect... Because the end of year can be big and we can all get a little anxious and overwhelmed sometimes!

You'll need

To pick our a few of our Raumati (Summer) craft activities, some crayons or colouring pencils, and some scissors

What to do

Get into a space of chilax, perhaps even start with some deep puku breathing and pick an activityfor tamaiki to get amongst, perhaps even ask a few reflective questions throughout, if they're making the  bookmark suggest they think about the people who are special to them and  have made an impact on them this year.
